Weekend Homework 21-22 Feb, Mosses and Ferns

hi how's your weekend coming along? I'm munching on my lunch now which consists of rice, sweet and sour fish and lots of green veggies. I wanted to do this update yesterday but i was simply too busy to even log in. I hope this won't be too late to serve as a reminder.

1. Complete Science Unit Tests 4

2. Learn your dictation from Pg 8 of Health Education Book, first two paragraphs.

3. Bring your plants and complete Science AB Record sheet 1 and 2 


I've just marked your Science Tests 3 and realised that most of you are not very familiar with mosses and ferns. So i'd be revising that tomorrow during the Science lesson. Also, from tomorrow to first week of May, there will be a trainee teacher who will be attached to me and she will take over the Science lessons gradually. I will be introducing her tomorrow to the class and hope you will all give her your fullest support and co-operation! This is her last practicum which means she will soon graduate to be a teacher!

Here's something about teaching that will make you laugh and hopefully understand us teachers better too :) Enjoy!

Announcements 18 Feb 2009

1. From now to next week, everyone is expected to observe the life cycle of a plant by planting some seeds in a transparent container. You may choose from green bean, red bean or soy bean seeds. I think these will give the best results. Soak the seeds for a certain period of time (record it) and plant them in soil. Bring them either tomorrow or Friday to win points for your group. 

If you have an ice cream stick, you can write the date you planted the seeds on it and stick it into the container. Record your observations in your Science activity book. Looking forward to seeing your plants!

2. Please wear your school uniform this Friday 20th February for class photo taking. Very important!! :)

Topics for CA1 Math

Hi everyone! Gosh I'm able to walk quite well now, after all the rest and physiotherapy. I go to this Sports Medicine Centre at Novena where they do deep tissue massage (very painful!), ultrasound treatment, heat treatment and also exercises to stretch the muscle. The physiotherapist observed that I'm walking much better now. I can't wait to come back to school on Friday! Thank you so much for your wonderful emails. I know you've been great kids, rite?

From the Control Tower

Hi I have spoken to the relief teacher and she sure sounds nice!! Lucky you! I have done the lesson plans for the week and are passing them to her. She has agreed to let me know the homework and lessons for each day so I can post them here :) After all, I can still work at the computer and rest rite?

English : For this week : Unit 2 Activity 1 to 4. Use of 'have' and quantity determiners. CB Pg 29 to 33. English worksheets will also be given out.

Science : For this week : Cycles : 3.4 Is Air Matter? WB activity 5 on Wednesday and Science Tests Unit 2 on Friday

Leg Swollen - Need to Rest!

Bad news, my dear pupils and parents. My calf muscle is hurting again. It looks and feels swollen. I think I should have heeded the doctor's advice and rested. I thought I'd take it easy and hobble around but it seems that the doctor's prescription of 2 weeks rest cannot go unheeded after all. If i continue to walk around, it will take longer to heal. Anyway the school will appoint a good relief teacher who will keep in touch with me. So I can still monitor the progress of the class through her and also through this blog. I hope you will all understand that this is not what i wish for but nevertheless I have to follow the doctor's advice and rest. You can see below what the doctor has advised..
