Gong Xi Fa Cai, everyone!! I'm so sorry this came rather late.. Do you know what happened to me? On Saturday, as you have seen my exercise schedule, I was supposed to go swimming from 5-7 pm while my son has his badminton classes. But that day I had planned to have my reunion dinner at 7 so I thought I'd let him join the 3-5 pm class so that I could go back early to prepare for the reunion dinner. The sun was rather hot at 3 pm so I did not swim but decided to do some cycling at the gym. After 20 minutes of cycling and 10 minutes on the elliptical machine, I went to look for my son at the badminton court. I asked him to join me for a short session of badminton before leaving. Just 5 minutes into the game, as I lunged forward to catch a shot, I felt something hard hit me on my left calf. I winced in pain and turned around to see who the perpetrator was. But there wasn't any object and the next thing I felt was a very bad muscle cramp in my left calf. I collapsed on the ground and groaned in pain as I clutched my leg. I found out that I had sustained a calf sprain! (http://www.physioroom.com/injuries/calf_and_shin/calf_strain_full.php) must have torn a ligament when I lunged forward... I had to hobble back to the car.. I could not walk for the next 4 days. Luckily my sister-in-law who came for the reunion dinner that night knew a chinese physician in Ang Mo Kio Ave 8 (Blk 330) and she brought me there that saturday night. Ever since then, I have been going daily for treatment. For the first time in my life, I experienced what acupuncture is like! It's rather painful actually.
Today I wasn't able to go to school as I still could not walk properly.. But after the treatment, I feel much better and shall be returning to work tomorrow even though the doctor has given me two days of MC. I miss all of you very much, that's why! Hope you all had a great new year and look forward to seeing all of you in class :) I'd be walking rather slowly still so seek your understanding and support :) thank you!
